More than twenty years ago, Ian had the foresight and vision to see beneficial soil microbes as a valuable tool for both regenerative-minded and conventional growers to increase productivity. He started the foundational development work on microbial products based on a solid scientific understanding of soil science.  
 
Ian is the original founder of Biolevel and a recognized leader in soil science in the United Kingdom, as well as a frequent speaker at conferences and advisor of clients around the world. He grew up on an organic farm in Scotland and graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in agriculture. In his early career, Ian worked in the fresh product industry at MDS Ltd., Greens of Soham, Emmett’s, TVM and Winchester Growers. He subsequently joined the Glenside Group, where he was responsible for the roll-out throughout the UK and internationally.  Ian is now Head of Soil Health at a leading European agronomy firm and a Non-Executive Director at Biolevel.
